Lewis L. Strauss, chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, received a silver plaque last night from the Men’s Club of Temple Emanu-El for “distinguished service.” Admiral Strauss was president of the temple from 1938 to 1949.

In a message to the ceremony at which the award made, President Eisenhower termed the honor “richly deserved” and said that he was “delighted to join with you in tribute to a good friend who has earned the esteem of his countrymen.
