What may be one of the best deposits of natural gas in Israel has been discovered near Petach Tikvah by the Israel American Oil Company in the course of drilling for oil, it was announced this week-end.
Louis Franklin, president of the company, said that if further deposits of natural gas are found it may be commercially exploitable. A significant amount of gas was discovered at less than 500 feet.
