The CIO Council of California has called upon the state Legislature to enact fair employment practices legislation similar to that in operation in New York and eight other states, it was revealed here by John Despol, legislative representative of the CIO council.
In this campaign the CIO will be aided by other labor groups in the state. The CIO will also press for legislation outlawing the “quota system” on student admissions in universities and colleges of California.
