First Keren Hayesod Campaign Proclaimed in West Germany

The first Keren Hayesod campaign in postwar West Germany was launched at a social gathering held at the home of a local Jewish leader, Paul Jew, and attended by communal leaders from this city and other parts of the country.

The head of the Israel Purchasing Mission in Germany. Dr. F. E. Shinnar, noted in a keynote talk that the Jews of Germany are now being given the chance of sharing in the task of Israel’s reconstruction, Israeli delegate Menahem Karin conveyed a special message of greeting from Kurt Blumenfeld, former leader of German Zionism and now director of the Keren Hayesod, to 81-year-old guest of honor Adolf Juda, father of the host and after the first World War a charter member of the Jewish Foundation Fund in Germany.
