The second conference of the American Hebrew Academy, which was set up last year under the sponsorship of the Histadruth Ivrith of America, opened here last night with some of America’s leading Hebrew scholars in attendance.
The first session was devoted to an observance of the 750th anniversary of the death of Maimonides and to an observance of Hebrew Month which is currently being celebrated in Hebrew schools and Jewish communities in this country. Establishment of the Morris B. Newman Foundation to subsidize outstanding works in Hebrew letters was announced at the parley.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
