Ambassador Johnston Meets with U.N. Head on Jordan Water Plan

Ambassador Eric Johbston. President Eisenhower’s personal envoy to the Near East, who recently returned from that region after conferring with Israel and Arab leaders on a plan for the development of the Jordan River Valley, met briefly yesterday with United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold. During the conference, Mr. Hammarskjold summoned Maj. Gen. E. L. M. Burns, Chief of Staff of the Truce Supervision Organization, and the three men were closeted for a further short period.
