Clement R. Attlee, leader of the Labor Party, criticized the omission of any mention of the tense Middle East situation from the Queen’s speech opening Parliament today.
He expressed the hope that “we will have a statement soon” from the British Government on its policy in the Middle East. “It seems to me to be one of the disturbed areas where this country can give a good lead,” the former Prime Minister said.
