Jews in Italy to Erect Monument for Visaless Immigrants

The Council of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities, meeting in Rome, has taken action to begin the erection of a monument in La Spezia, to immortalize the Italian port from which many thousands visaless immigrants sailed for Palestine during the last years of the British Mandate. The La Spezia town council has assigned a site for the monument.
