The Combined Campaign for American Reform Judaism raised a total of $1,563,279 during the year ending July 1 to meet the maintenance needs of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, it was announced today by Dr. Samuel S. Hollender, of Chicago, general chairman of the nationwide drive for Reform Jewish institutions.

Dr. Hollender noted that the total of $1,563,279 for 1954-55 represented an increase of $119,679 over what was realized last year for the maintenance needs of the national religious institutions of American Reform Judaism. He pointed out the Combined Campaign also raised $137,238 additional in cash during this same period towards the liquidation of $400,000 in bank and other debts incurred by the Union of American Hebrew Congregations and the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion over a period of years.
