N. Philips, prominent Johannesburg attorney and communal worker, has been elected chairman of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies. it was announced here today. Mr. Philips, who served as vice-chairman of the Board for the past two years, succeeds E. Horowitz, who was named a vice-president of the organization.
