Louis Horowitz, of the United Hias Service office in Paris, has arrived here to study possibilities for emigration of middle-class Jews to countries other than Israel. He has already had meetings with a number of local community leaders for discussion of the proposals.

Meanwhile, about a thousand Jews left Tunisia last week on their way to Israel. Registration for emigration to Israel, which had been suspended for the past month because emigration officials were unable to cope with the flood of applications, will be resumed after the Succoth holidays. Some 3,000 applicants are expected to sign up within the first few days after the register is re-opened.
