Secretary of Defense Charles Wilson today referred all questions involving the supply of munitions by Czechoslovakia to Egypt to the State Department. He declined to express any views on the sale of Communist arms to Egypt.

Sec. Wilson indicated that the State Department is ma king all decisions as to what countries are to be sold arms and the types of arms to be made available. He referred questioners on the Israel-Egyptian arms question to Secretary of State John Foster Dulles.

Meanwhile, Defense Department sources said the amounts and types of weapons sold to Israel and Egypt were secret under an American Government policy adopted during the Spanish civil war, but indicated the amounts had not been great. It was generally indicated by Defense Department sources that the Department would make available any type of equipment if the State Department requested it.
