Predicting that the current inflow of Jews from tense North Africa to Israel will continue at a heavy rate for several years, Judge Anna Kross, New York City Commissioner of Correction, said today upon her return from Israel that American Jewry must help Israel absorb these new immigrants through increased contributions to the United Jewish Appeal.

Summing up her impressions, Judge Kross said: “The most thrilling thing about Israel is that this nation is dedicated to the uplifting of the down-trodden. In this great effort toward social improvement, there is evident a great love by man for his fellow men. No-where in the world is there such a concentrated, such a tremendous drive, directed toward the absorption of new immigrants, modernization of the lives of newcomers from backward areas of the world, the spreading of knowledge and the application of medical science to all men.”
