Professor Jacques Faitlowitch, famous explorer who was the first to establish contact between world Jewry and the “Falashas,” the Jews of Ethiopia, died here last night at the age of 74.

Dr. Faitlovitch conducted four exploratory expeditions among the Falashas between 1904 and 1913, gaining the confidence of the dark-skinned Jews who had been cut off from Jewry for thousands of years and thought themselves the only remaining Jews in the world.
