Canadian Hadassah Opens Four-day Parley; Honors Canadian Premier

A four-day convention of the Hadassah organization of Canada opened here today with delegates representing the 15,000 members in attendance. The first function of note today was a reception given for the delegates by Israel Ambassador Michael S. Comay and his wife at the Embassy. Justice I. C. Rand of the Supreme Court of Canada officiated at a tree planting ceremony at the reception.

Louis St. Laurent, Prime Minister of Canada, was scheduled to receive a citation from Hadassah tonight. Edward Gelber, president of the Zionist Organization of Canada, will be the guest speaker at a banquet tomorrow evening.
