Minister of Home Affairs Dr. Louis Beel withdrew yesterday a bill pending before Parliament which would have set the next election on a Friday. The withdrawal followed representations to Dr. Beel by Holland’s two Chief Rabbis and the unanimous opinion of the Chamber of Deputies that elections on a Friday would interfere with religious observance by Orthodox Jews.
