Sydney Pierce, son of veteran Canadian Zionist Asher Pierce, has been appointed by the government as Deputy High Commissioner for Canada in Great Britain. His last post was as Ambassador to Brazil. Mr. Pierce, who is 54, was born in Montreal, started his career in journalism, and has held Canadian diplomatic posts in Mexico and in Washington.
