Israel will receive 2,200,000 pounds of butter from the United States under an authorization issued today by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Delivery will be made not later than April 30.
The Department of Agriculture announced that its authorization enables Israel to purchase up to $900,000 worth of butter under the Agricultural Trade Development and Assistance Act of 1954. Details of the agreement with Israel were first announced last November when it was agreed to sell Israel about $17,000,000 worth of U.S. surplus agricultural commodities.
