There must be no discrimination between Tunisian Moslems and Jews in the elections for the Tunisian legislature next March, the Neo-Destour (nationalist) French-language newspaper “L’Action” declared today.
In the same editorial, “L’Action” suggested that to guarantee proper representation for an ethnic group of great importance to Tunisia an invitation might be extended to the Jews, if they wished, to be represented in the electoral college. The newspaper dwelt on the importance of having independent opinion represented in the legislature and stated that the entire question of independent, as well as party representation was currently under study by the government.
