Dr. Leon Ben Zaquen, Minister of Posts and Telegraph in the Moroccan Cabinet and a Jewish leader, was elected today joint honorary president of the Association of Moroccan Physicians, Dentists and Pharmacists together with a Moslem doctor.

Meanwhile, a new group known as El Wifak has been organized to promote social, recreational and cultural contact between Moroccan Jews and Moslems. The association’s aims include the achievement of “a strong unity between different sections of the population in a climate of brotherly understanding.” Prince Moulay Hassan, son of the Sultan, has accepted the honorary presidency of the group, which has an administrative committee of 20 on which Jews and Moslems are represented equally.
