The New York Board of Rabbis, composed of rabbis of Orthodox, Conservative and Reform congregations in the New York area, urged support of the Gordon-Rosenblatt Bill in the New York State Legislature, which proposes a study of the causes of marital disputes in relation to separations, annulments and divorces.
In a resolution adopted at its meeting yesterday, the Board called on Jewish congregations in New York to rally behind the measure. The resolution expressed the hope that eventually the divorce laws of the state would be reviewed with a view to liberalization.
