President George Meany of the AFL-CIO wired greetings today to the Histadrut, Israel’s federation of labor, on the occasion of the organization’s 35th anniversary.

“At this crucial hour in the life of your nation and all other free peoples,” Mr. Meany said, “the deliberations and decisions of your 35th annual convention take on added significance for the democratic international labor movement as well as for your own ranks and country. The AFL-CIO heartily greets your country.

“We fervently hope your great convention will contribute decisively toward a solution of the urgent problem of strengthening Israel democracy and attaining just, stable, and peaceful relations among all the peoples of the Middle East. Towards this end we pledge your convention ever greater solidarity with Histadrut and expansion of our cooperation as affiliates of the I.C.F.T.U.”
