Argentine Jews Ask Government to Act on Anti-semitic Publication

A delegation representing the Argentine Jewish community called on Minister of the Interior Dr. Eduardo Busso this weekend and presented him with a memorandum calling his attention to anti-Semitic propaganda being, spread in the Argentine by the German-language magazine “Der Weg.”

The delegation pointed out that the monthly, which originates in this country, is banned from West Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and a number of other countries because of its slanderous attacks on Jews. The memorandum further urged liberalization of immigration for Jews and the right to speak Yiddish at public meetings without prior police permission. Dr. Busso promised to discuss the memorandum with President Gen. Pedro Arambura.

The delegation, which also explained to Dr. Busso the purpose of the Pan-American meeting which began in Montevideo yesterday to express Latin American Jewry’s solidarity with Israel, consisted of Dr. Moises Goldmann, president of the DAIA; Dr. Leon Lapaco, secretary of the DAIA; Dr. Abraham Mibashan, president of the Buenos Aires” community, and Alfredo Korn, president of the United Israel Campaign.
