The Israeli Olympic Soccer Team defeated an all-star squad picked from American League soccer teams yesterday by a score of two-one. A crowd of many tens of thousands of persons watched the match, the final event on an “American Salutes Israel” celebration.
The Israeli team, which came to the United States for just this one game, left by air today for Tel Aviv. In July, the Israeli teams will meet a star Soviet soccer aggregation in play-offs for the Olympic Games in Melbourne.
