Support for the expanded adult education program of the Conservative movement and for the greater stress on youth activities and leadership training proposed by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and the United Synagogue of America was pledged here today at the closing plenary session of a convention of the National Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs, an affiliate of the Conservative movement.

The 600 delegates adopted a resolution hailing United Nations Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold’s efforts toward a peaceful solution between Israel and the Arab states. They also warned that the Soviet supplying of arms to the Arab states endangered not only the State of Israel but the peace of the region and possibly of the world.

Rabbi Joel S. Geffen, spiritual advisor of the federation, revealed that the total membership of the clubs was 50,000. Abraham Satovsky was elected president of the federation.
