More Than Half of Montreal’s Jewish Population is Canadian-born

Slightly more than 56 percent of the Jewish population of Metropolitan Montreal in 1951 was Canadian-born. The percentage of native born among Montreal Jews has been increasing steadily during the past two decades, it was reported by the Population Study of the Jewish Community in Montreal. The study further reported that the average Jewish family in Montreal in 1951 included 3. 2 persons.
