Chaim Gross, noted Jewish sculptor and painter has been awarded a $1,000 prize for sculpture by the National Institute of Arts and Letters. The award, one of several such prizes made in various fields of the arts, was presented at the annual prize-award ceremony of the Institute.
Mr. Gross came to this country in 1921 and received his early art training at the Educational Alliance on New York’s East Side. His work is exhibited in a number of museums, including the Tel Aviv Museum and the Bezalel Museum in Jerusalem.
