Failure on the part of the Turkish Government to reply to requests for exit visas for a Turkish championship basketball team, which has been invited to visit Israel, is being interpreted here as part of the Turkish Government’s campaign to give no open sign of friendship for Israel lest it alienate the Arab states.

The team, known as "Galatasaray," an Istanbul group, has been invited to participate in the Hapoel Festival in Israel. The Israelis had made all travel arrangements for the Turkish team.
