President Itzhak Ben Zvi today received a group of 70 South American boys and girls who have arrived here for a year’s voluntary service in Negev border settlements. The volunteers, he said, exemplified a glorious tradition set by two generations of pioneers throughout the country. The reception in their honor took place at the President’s home and the 16 girls among the group were especially welcomed by Mrs. Ben Zvi.

Dr. Margaret Mead, American anthropologist, was received today by President Ben Zvi, himself a top cultural anthropologist. Dr. Mead, who is touring Israel for the first time, was a luncheon guest of Foreign Minister Golda Myerson yesterday. Last night, she lectured on “Cultural Readiness for Change” at the Hebrew Unyersity here.
