Decision on Sharett’s Post Due Sunday Committee Holds Discussions

The political future of Israel’s Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett will be determined next Sunday, it was reported here today in the wake of a meeting of a special nine man Mapai committee last night which failed to come to a conclusion on whether Mr. Sharett should remain as Foreign Minister or take over the leadership of the party.

The committee, headed by Premier David Ben Gurion, will meet again Sunday, Yesterday’s session lasted five hours and was attended by Cabinet Ministers and other top leaders of the Labor Party, including Mr. Sharett, who left for a half-hour in the midst of the discussion.
