Truce observation posts set up along the Israel Egyptian border in the Gaza area have been manned by United Nations observers since yesterday, it was announced here today by the UN Truce Supervision Organization. The posts were constructed under agreements obtained by UN Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold from both countries.

The six posts established on each side of the demarcation line command about 25 miles of border strip. The observers are equipped with walkie-talkie radio sets and will be able to report infiltrators immediately after they are spotted. This is expected to cut the number of frontier outbreaks. The Gaza strip border area has been relatively calm for the past fortnight.
