Judge Sergio Piperno, a native of Rome, was elected president of the council of the Union of Jewish Communities of Italy today. The new council also extended its greetings to and expressed its solidarity with the people and State of Israel, in a resolution. The council also hailed the Jewish Agency and the World Jewish Congress.
