Harry Goldstein, who for ten years until his resignation at the age of 75 last year headed the Hamburg Jewish Community and was instrumental in reviving Jewish life in Northwest Germany, was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class by Hamburg Mayor Dr. H. Sieveking.
