A tombstone for the grave of Baruch Spinoza was unveiled here yesterday outside the New Protestant church where he lies buried. The ceremony was attended by Israel Consul Dr. Ezra Yoran, but no officials of the Dutch Jewish community were present.

The monument, of black basalt from Galilee, was sent by the Israel Spinozean Society, and contains the inscription “Amcha” (Your People) in Hebrew. The philosopher was excommunicated 300 years ago by the Sephardic Congregation of Amsterdam.
