Israelis Eligible to File Private Financial Claims Against Germany

Israeli citizens and residents may now file personal applications for private financial claims against Germany not covered under current German restitution and property restoration laws.

They became eligible to file such claims when the Israel Cabinet, late yesterday, ratified the London Agreement of February 27, 1953 governing West German debts to foreign citizens.

The Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Levi Eshkol during Premier. David Ben Gurion’s absence on vacation, approved Mr. Eshkol’s departure later this month for the United States. There, he will attend the national conference convened by the Israel Bond Organization.
