Rabbi Philip S. Bernstein, chairman of the American Zionist Committee for Public Affairs, conferred today with William Rountree, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, on Israel’s security problems. Rabbi Bernstein asked anew for U.S. arms for Israel.
The Zionist leader, it was learned, also inquired into the progress of Israel’s request for a $75,000,000 loan for irrigation purposes.
