All Jewish homes in Port Said were burned down by the Egyptians and most Jewish-owned stores were pillaged, the French newspaper Le Monde reported today. The Egyptians believed that the attack on the port city was carried out by advance forces of the Israel Army, not by British paratroopers, Le Monde said.
