An “Academic Labor Exchange” to facilitate the placement and settlement of scientists, scholars and educators among the newly arriving immigrants will be established in the Premier’s Office, it was announced here today. Doctors and engineers are snapped up almost immediately upon arrival, but economists require a “transition” period to study the new economy before they find positions.

About 100 Israeli students of technology have been invited to accept training this summer in 13 different European countries. The program is sponsored by the International Association For the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience. In the past six years, 500 Israeli students have gone abroad while 250 foreign students have come to Israel under the exchange set-up.
