Two prominent French military airmen and former Cabinet members left for Israel today to be guests of the Israel Defense Ministry and to inspect Israel’s military installations, especially that country’s air force. The men are J Crouzier who, while Minister for Military Production, signed the first agreement for supply of French arms to Israel; and L. Christiens, first French Aviation Minister and the airman who piloted the first French supersonic plane.
At the same time today, Emile Roche, chairman of the French National Economic Council, returned here with the delegation of bankers, investment specialists and engineers which he headed for an economic survey in Israel during the past week. ”Frances economic effort on behalf of Israel, ” M. Roche said on his arrival here, ”is obviously very much appreciated in Israel. The Jewish State also appreciates our spiritual kinship with them and the fact that our people stand alongside theirs in fighting for their rights.”
