The position of the Jewish population in some countries in North Africa continues to be disturbed by anti-Israel and anti-Jewish propaganda from Egypt and other Arab states, the Board of Deputies of British Jews reported today. The Board decided to cooperate with other Jewish organizations to make “representations to governments and other appropriate authorities with a view toward bringing about improvement in the situation of the Jews of those countries.”
The Board also reported that certain major firms in England had yielded to Arab boycott demands. It noted that the London Chamber of Commerce had agreed to pass information on the set-up of Jewish and non-Jewish firms dealing with Israel to the Pakistan High Commissioner, who is acting as an agent for Saudi Arabia for boycott purposes.
