Dr. Lincoln B, Hale, former director of the United States Operations Mission to Israel was honored by the Zionist Organization of America here at a reception tendered him today. Dr. Hale returned to this country last month after spending almost three years in Israel as head of the U.S. Aid Mission there. In this capacity, he supervised the implementation of the U.S. Economic and Technical Aid Program to Israel under which Israel received financial and technical aid and advice.

In behalf of the national ZOA administration, Dr. Emanuel Neumann, president of the ZOA, presented a scroll to Dr. Hale in which tribute was paid to him as “a builder of democracy as educator, religious leader, and administrator of a creative program of American assistance in the development of the State of Israel.” The tribute further emphasized that “under his direction the U.S. Operations Mission during the years 1954-1957 contributed notably and lastingly to Israel’s progress, through the expansion of industry, the development of mining, and the exploitation of mineral resources.”
