Israel Sends New Minister to Prague; Rafael Named Minister to Belgium

The appointment of Gideon Rafael as Minister to Belgium and Luxemburg was announced by the Foreign Ministry today. The 44-year-old diplomat joined the foreign service in 1948, has served with the United Nations delegation and several divisions of the Foreign Ministry.

Shmuel Bendor has been named Israel Minister to Prague, the Foreign Ministry announced. The 47-year-old Irish-born diplomat has been serving as counselor of the Embassy in Paris and before that was head of the Foreign Ministry’s United States Division,
