The Baron James de Rothschild who died here last month left an estate of 11,620,000 pounds (approximately $32, 500, 000), the largest estate left in England in at least a decade. Inheritance taxes amounted to about 7, 500, 000 pounds.

The will left varying sums of from 5,000 to 10,000 pounds to the Jewish Board of Guardians and to various Jewish hospitals. It also designated his widow to be president of the Palestine Jewish Colonization Association which he took over from his father.
