Roger W. Straus, nationally prominent in brotherhood work and a leader in civic activities and business, died here yesterday. He was 65.
A founder and for years co-chairman of the National Conference on Christians and Jews, Mr. Straus served as general chairman of Brotherhood Week in 1953. He was also honorary president of the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods and a member of the executive boards of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, the American Jewish Committee and the board of governors of the Israel bond drive. He was also honorary vice chairman of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York.
