There is a “deep feeling” in Israel, even in the ranks of the Mapai Party, against the establishment of diplomatic relations with the West German Government, Menachem Beigin, leader of the Israel Herut Party, said here today prior to his departure for Rhodesia, Belgian Congo and then Paris. Mr. Beigin, who spent three months in this country, said that here and elsewhere in the Diaspora there was vehement opposition to dealings with Bonn.

Mr. Beigin said that if the Israel Government were to attempt to negotiate a diplomatic exchange with Germany, the Herut would seek to enlist the support of all parties in the Knesset to overrule the decision and would urge Jews throughout Israel and the entire world to demonstrate their abhorrence of the idea.
