Albert Greenfield Receives First World Brotherhood Award

The first World Brotherhood Awards of the National Conference of Christians and Jews was presented here tonight to Nobel Prize winning physicist Dr. Arthur Compton and Albert M, Greenfield, noted financier and civic leader The presentations at a NCCJ dinner were made by Adlai Stevenson and Mme. Pandit. India’s High Commissioner to London.

Yesterday, at the opening of the two-day annual meeting of the NCCJ, Admiral Lewis L. Strauss was named the Jewish co-chairman of the group to succeed the late Roger W Straus, Admiral Strauss, chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, eulogized the late Mr. Straus as did former Gov. Thomas E. Dewey and Prof. Carleton J. Hayes. The three men–Jew, Protestant and Catholic, respectively–were lifelong friends of the late Mr. Straus.
