A series of meetings will be held with Protestant, Jewish and Catholic leaders by the New York State Commission Against Discrimination to work out “practical, coordinated programs” against racial and religious bias, “Commission officials announced today.
The first meeting will be with Protestant leaders under auspkes of the State Council of Churches at Harriman. N. Y. next week. The meeting with Catholic leaders will be held in Albany in June. The date for the Jewish parley will be announced later, Commission chairman Charles Abrams said. He added the plan was the first on a state-wide level and was developed to “make the most of the important influence” of religious leaders.
