JERUSALEM (May. 19)
The Knesset of Israel resumed its current session today after a two-month Passover recess. It is scheduled to work until the end of July when the legislators will recess for the Summer.
On the agenda this week are a number of important, non-political issues including: the establishment of a council of higher education which, among its functions, would be responsible for the chartering of new colleges and universities; and, a bill to regulate the amount of “key money” a new tenant may pay to obtain an apartment.
