Convention of Jewish Communal Workers Elects Walter Lurie President

Walter A. Lurie, director of the Large City Budgeting Conference of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds, was elected president of the National Conference of Jewish Communal Service, an organization of Jewish communal workers now holding its 60th anniversary convention here. More than 2, 000 professionals in Jewish communal institutions and organizations are attending the convention.

Myron B. Blanchard, director of the National Jewish Welfare Board’s department of community studies, was elected president of the National Association of Jewish Center Workers at the close of its 40th annual national conference here today. The NAJCW is the organization of 1,500 professional workers employed in more than 350 Jewish Community Centers and YM YWHAs in the United States and Canada.
