The Frankfurt City Council has voted a grant of 20, 000 marks toward the cost of restoring Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, where the Jewish teenager spent the last months of her life in hiding from the Nazis.

In his letter to the Anne Frank Foundation, which is establishing the memorial, Frankfurt Mayor H. Bockelmann said that the city where Anne Frank was born wants to set a good example. The memorial in Amsterdam, which will also house a youth center, is expected to cost the equivalent of $55, 000.
